“After a full -scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine, the museum used its platform to facilitate the invasion and its implementation, in particular by organizing deliveries to the forefront. Therefore, the State Museum-Reserve “Chersonese Tavriysky” is responsible for actions or policy, which undermine or threaten territorial integrity, Ukraine's sovereignty and independence ”, - said in the EU message.
To 2014 year "Chersonese Tavriysky" was a Ukrainian state institution, subordinate to the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine. Following the illegal annexation of Crimea by Russia, The museum was under the control of occupying power. His leadership has been working with the Russian administration since then.
The reserve became an instrument of Russian propaganda - on its territory regular events with the participation of high -ranking officials of the Russian Federation and representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church.
